Code of Conduct
Code of Conduct for Parents/Carers
Encourage your child to:
- Perfect his/her stokes under the guidance of the coaching staff;
- Train regularly and conscientiously;
- Act with respect, particularly towards the coaching staff, swimming officials, pool staff and representatives of other clubs;
- Support and applaud the performances of other club members, particularly the junior swimmers as well as the performances by swimmers from other clubs;
- Represent the club with pride when selected and wear the club’s regalia.
Set a good example yourself by:
- Publicly accepting with good grace the rulings of officials (our sport cannot exist without them!);
- Recognising and applauding good performances not only by our own members but also by swimmers from other clubs;
- Using correct and proper language at all times;
- Wearing the club’s regalia at galas and sitting with other parents and carers from our club.
Help your child recognise:
- A good performance and appreciate that not every swim can be a PB.
Never:
- Force your child to train or compete;
- Punish or belittle them for a poor swim – it happens!
Support your child`s:
- Involvement and help them to enjoy this great sport.
GET INVOLVED!!!!
- Our club is run largely by volunteers. There are all manner of tasks which you can assist with from taking swim fees at the door and training to be an official or part of the coaching staff. Make new friends and influence people and, most of all, be a real part of this club.
